Gallery 6: Miscellaneous@Glasgow Central.  Motorail, exhibition train, inspection saloon.

For a while during the early 1990's, the mid afternoon arrival from London carried Motorail traffic in two or three vans at the rear of the train.  In order to facilitate unloading without an end loading bank, this bogie well wagon was adapted for use.
Ex LMS inspection saloon in platform 3.
47971 "Robin Hood" sits at the top of an exhibition train in platform 3.  If my memory serves me correctly the exhibition was to do with computers.
From platform 11a, it is just possible to see the odd working over the City Union Line, here a class 37 tows a class 26, both in Railfreight coal livery, towards High St. junction.
An excellent alternative vantage point to observe workings in and out of Glasgow Central is at Cook Street, about a mile from the station and near to the signalling centre.
